Newt Gingrich: Full of "Intellectual Nonsense and Stunningly Dangerous."

The media's love affair with Newt Gingrich is really starting to get on my nerves.

Aside from the fact that Gingrich is a dinosaur (picture "Dippy" the diplodocus carnegii) who still has Presidential ambitions, he's getting more and more like Bouncing Rush Limbaugh every day.

That is to say, desperately, stupidly inconsistent.

Newt says things that are contradictory and absurdly ironic, but never sees dichotomy when his rhetoric collides with his espoused beliefs... and as usual, the "we'd rather manufacture news than actually report it" mainstream media gives him a pass.

Here's a for instance:

In his June 8 speech to the Senate and House Republican campaign committees, Gingrich couldn't pass up a jab at Obama, saying:
"I am not a citizen of the world. I think the entire concept is intellectual nonsense and stunningly dangerous."
It was a reference to then-candidate Obama's July 2008 speech in Berlin, Germany, where he described himself as
"a citizen -- a proud citizen of the United States, and a fellow citizen of the world."
The fascination thing is that in his June 17, 1982 speech to the UN General Assembly, the Anointed One™ President Ronald Reagan, the Patron Saint™ of the Republican Party, worshipped by Newt, plagiarist Sarah Palin and Teh Wacky™ everywhere, said almost exactly the same thing:
"I speak today as both a citizen of the United States and of the world."
I guess if St. Ronnie says it, it's wonderful. But if the President with the funny-sounding Muslim name says it, it's "stunningly dangerous."

The desperation evidenced by this asshattery isn't what amazes me.

What amazes me is that Newt has repeated this crapola on numerous occasions, and then extols the virtues of Reagomics in the same breath... and NO ONE in the mainstream media has ever called him on it.

Go figure.

Self-description much?

Newt has gone off the deep end with Teh Wacky™. He doesn't believe a word of this drivel, but he's wooing the wacknut base.
