Restraint Be Damned, I Must Comment. Sarah Palin Is The Biggest Dumbass On The National Stage. Ever.

This is Sarah Palin's latest Tweet.

Not being content to win Politifact's Lie Of The Year Award, Sarah Palin decides to resurrect her lie so that she can generate even more headlines.

I'm sorry, America, that Alaska and John McCain ever granted her celebrity status.

h/t to Broadway Carl.

I can't help but note the disconnect between your bemoaning others for granting Palin celebrity status and your own promotion of that celebrity status by creating a feature which can only result in promoting more celebrity for Palin.

Palin will disappear when people quit creating headlines for her to star in.

As long as you and others continue to promote Palin, you can hardly credibly complain about the others who are still doing so.

You haven't divorced yourself from the same activity.

Millions of irrelevant morons create inane and nonsensical twitterings every day. Pointing to one such moron isn't any more relevant than if you'd highlighted the mutterings of the nearest mentally unstable individual standing on any representative street corner in America.

Just like those unfortunate souls, you don't help them by engaging with them in their delusions or worse yet, publishing their delusions, and Palin isn't any different. She needs professional help, not promotion. Not from anyone.

Anon,

Mea Culpa.

I'm as guilty as the mainstream media and many other bloggers in paying attention to someone who really shouldn't be encouraged.

Honestly, I really have tried to keep my comments about Palin limited... but I'll admit it... I've not been successful.

It's not an obsession on my part ... it's just that her headline-grabbing crazy and stupid is a temptation that's tough to resist, and I find myself drawn like a moth to the flame.

Believe it or not, I appreciate the comeuppance. I'll try to do better in the future.

However:

If she manages to land herself a syndicated talk show, or declares her candidacy for national office, all bets are off.

whether she lands a hate radio spot, or declares she's god incarnate, she won't be deserving of any more promotion at that time than now.

She's an irrelevant distraction from what we ought to concentrate on, and that won't change no matter what her eventual promotion leads to.

These media distractions only gain traction through their being continually promoted and given the space to act out their idiocy.

I appreciate restraint, but I would appreciate a refusal to play along even more and I think that would end up being a lot more positive in the long run.

But what do I know, eh? Carry on, and have a great holiday.

To Wolfe Tone, comrade of celebration to she who is Palin.

What you think you see in Sarah Palin are but mere distortions, such as you'd see of yourself in the rippled reflection of a pond on a windy day.

You admit; you are drawn like a moth to a flame. This isn't because of a yearning for absurdity, it is genuine admiration.

Sarah Palin has become what you wished for your own life. She has grown tired of the flavors you'll forever yearn to taste.

Please, relax your soul and embrace your true feelings.

For in these cold climes, the rippled pond freezes and the reflection becomes quite clear.

Peace be with you.

Yeah. Admiration. That's the ticket!
I wanna grow up to be like Sarah?

Pretty funny.
